The next day we went to the tapings of 500 Choristes at night. It was quite an experience, it was somewhere in the suburbs of Paris, we were walking on high heels and arrived by train. We had to walk quite far on our high heels and had to wait for about an 1,5 hour, again on our high heels... When we finally could enter the studio we had to give all our belongings (including our camera) in a tent outside the studio. Because we wanted to have a good seat, we walked quite fast. That's not very wise when you are walking on high heels, especially when you have to go through stones, bumbs and lots of earth. Right at the moment we were crossing the street, very clumsy, I noticed that a car had to stop for us (because we were walking in the middle of the street). And at that same moment I heard people screaming: "Céline, Céline!!!"
So we looked at the car and it was the same big black limo we also saw in front of George V the day before. We walked on, with a red face and we cleared the road for them... It was a bit embarrassing but funny too! The recordings were really cool and took untill 2:30 in the night! First Johhny Halliday did a few songs, including a duet with Patrick Fiori. Then Céline came on stage. She did a duet with Johnny too: L'envie. It was EXCELLENT! I can't wait to see and hear it again! They had to do it 3 times (great!!!). Both Céline and Johnny went completely nuts. Its a kind of rocksong and Céline was completely in it, she sang it so well and live too! The smile on the face of Johnny Halliday got bigger and bigger! And the audience... I still get goosebumbs when I think about it... Céline also sang 'Pour que tu m'aimes encore', 'S'il suffisait d'aimer, 'Je ne vous oublie pas' en the French version of 'I believe in you' with Il Divo. It sounded so great with the choir! They had to do almost every song a few times - she had to walk different from the stage, or other things had to be done again. One time Céline was at the back with the choir and she was standing in the opening of the door. She was joking and making funny moves over there. Then suddenly a voice shouted if she could please leave the opening of the door and go stand somewhere else.
You should have seen her face! She was looking like: "Oh well, ok, I am leaving already..." We also saw Manon and René walking around all the time and everyone in the audience applauded them. It was really great to be part of it! Finally monday, the tapings of Vivement Dimanche. This was the most impressing thing for me. I had a great seat at the front of the audience, right behind Michel Drucker and in front of Céline.
I think she looked at me just as often as she looked at Michel. Maybe you have read this before, but the show was a kind of summary of her carreer. Michel talked about that with Céline and they showed images of her carreer from the early beginnings untill now (images of Dis-moi Céline, she was named after this song, songs of Eddy Marnay, Luc Plamandon, JJ Goldman, images of live shows, her wedding, important moments). Céline was having a difficult moment (she was getting tears in her eyes) when she saw images from her youth and she looked me straight in the eyes, like she was saying: I can't help it.... After that she was waving with a cd, waving her tears away and then I started to laugh. She looked at me again and started to laugh too. There were various moments she looked me straight in the eyes, or she had a affirmative look on her face, it was really funny. I could have stayed there some hours more!
Céline has such a great sense of humour, she walked on stage like a mannequin and Michel Drucker was making jokes all the time too. There was a man that is part of 'Vivement Dimanche Prochain', its the first 30 minutes that is showed on tv separately from the normal 'Vivement Dimanche'. That man made a comment about his hair, that he had quite a bit hair, something like that. Then Michel Drucker said: "Oh yeah? You think so?
Maybe you should turn around!" (so they could film the back of his head and the man could look at his own head on screen). At the back of his head he had a big, bold spot. So after the man saw his own head and reacted to that, Céline is looking at the images on the screen too (but she did not get it right away) and she was looking, then suddenly she bursted of laughter and she said: "Michel, you are really mean!" These are the funny moments, there were so many more.
It was unique to be there and impossible to tell them all. Maybe its nice to know she also confirmed (like in all the other shows) that she would like to do a tour in France after Las Vegas. Whooooohoooo! At 21:00 the show ended and Céline had to leave right away. 3 years ago I was at 'Vivement Dimanche' too and then everybody ran towards her at the end of the show. She stayed there for about 15 minutes to make pictures and give autographs. Unfortunately she had other things to do this time... But it did not matter because it was great! After the show we had to run for our coach back to The Netherlands, we had to be there at 22:00. Fortunately we made it! It was an amazing experience and I really enjoyed it. I hope you liked my review. I also made some pictures, you can see them at
